Common Name: Rock Dove a.k.a. Feral Pigeon
Scientific Name: Columba livia
Rock Dove a.k.a. the feral pigeon or common pigeon, it could be a racing pigeon or maybe a homing pigeon both with homes. Who knows it may be one of hundreds that have decided not to go home and bred but it's definitely an introduced species.
They come in many colour combinations and variations and I believe are common the world over defecating on public statues and buildings or seeking food in parks, Long Jetty Dec 2012.
